Whistleblower Hotline

This website is part of the service provided by Stopline Pty Ltd to Australian Red Cross people, contractors and other stakeholders to enable the reporting of any issue that may adversely affect Australian Red Cross or its people or reputation. Further information on the sorts of matters that should be reported and the ways that they can be reported are found throughout this site. We encourage you to explore this site, where you will find access to the Australian Red Cross Code of Conduct and answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the service provided to Australian Red Cross by Stopline and how it works.

Hi everyone,

The work we do at Australian Red Cross is often complex and challenging; we support people experiencing extreme vulnerability and stress, and we work in severe emergency and disaster situations.  Whilst we are all committed to doing the right thing, it can sometimes be difficult to know what that looks like, and so the Code of Conduct has been designed to support all of us to do the right thing.

Maintaining our commitment to the Australian Red Cross Code of Conduct is vital if we are to safely and responsibly support communities around Australia and overseas. Under our Code of Conduct all Red Cross people – members, volunteers and staff – commit to behave in ways that demonstrate our values and Fundamental Principles and support our vision and purpose. All Red Cross people are also responsible for reporting suspected or actual breaches of these values and principles; we all have a role to play in helping each other do the right thing.

If you are concerned about behaviour that does not accord with these values and principles you are encouraged to raise your concerns or issues openly and transparently within Red Cross, to enable them to be explored and resolved. If you feel genuinely unable to raise your concerns within Red Cross, or have tried this and are still concerned, you can raise the issue via the confidential and independent whistleblower hotline service provided by Stopline.

Stopline enables you to provide details about the issues you wish to raise on a confidential and, if you wish, anonymous basis so they can be investigated and acted on appropriately by Red Cross.  They will take full details of your concern via telephone, mail, email, fax or this website. It is available to all Red Cross people, and translation services can be provided, if required.

Once your concern reaches the experienced team at Stopline, it is assessed by a forensic investigator who develop a report for us, which will be used to assess the matter and determine what action we will take in accordance with our policies and procedures.

Ethical behaviour protects all Red Cross people and our clients; the Stopline service plays is an important part in enabling us all to live our Values and Fundamental Principles.
